Reflection:   I am learning to add up cents and to do change. When i started it looked like it was really easy but when i read it was a tricky one for me.

Meaning of tricky words

Reflection:it was a bit hard to see the meaning.it was really fun because i love leaning tricky new words.  It would be good for me to learn new words.

Wearable Arts

This year we created headbands, pois and a class piuiu (Maori skirt) for our Wearable Arts.  We combined Maori and Pacific cultures to send a message about "How Far Will You Go.... to save the oceans from plastic."  We used a Maori Version of the song from Moana.  

Describing a Character

This term I have been learning to describe a character:
Success Criteria:

use describing words
use language features e.g. similes and alliteration,
use my senses (see, hear, feel,)
hook the reader into feeling what the character was like



Once there was a girl called Red Riding Hood.  She had sparkly blue eyes.  She had a  lovely red coat with a shiny 
hood and and black tights.  She has white and pink, light hair with two plaits.  She lives in a really, friendly village.  
Her skin was white as snow with freckles.  She wears black shoes.  

Reflection:  This writing was a good learning for me and for my brain to get more ideas  about writing. It was easy to get lots of describing words  because i imagine it in my head and because  little Red Riding is my favourite fairy tale.but it was a really fun writing task.

Making music

In term 2 and 3 we have been learning to make music with boom whackers.It was so much fun!

Adding 2-Digit Numbers

This term I have been learning to add 2-Digit numbers by splitting into tens and ones to solve.



Reflection: It was easy to add numbers.It was really challenging for me and it was a good task for me and to get better at maths. Now i just need to look more properly at the numbers.It was so much fun!     

Reading for Information

This term I have been learning to read for information,answer question,summarise the main facts and the present my information using Poster My Wall.

Reflection:I have been learning to find more information about spiders. It was hard to find information that I wanted to find out but it was easy to learn more about spiders. I learnt that spiders are really interesting.  I had really fun with my reading task and I had a little help from a friend to use Poster My Wall.

Football Fun

This term Room 18 enjoyed a soccer clinic. It was amazing fun!

Statistical Investigation

This term I have been learning to help with a statistical investigation.
To do this I had to...

• ask questions, tally, total, graph and comment on what I found out.

Reflection:  I found it a little bit tricky to do the tally chart and moving the lines on the computer but it was easier on paper.  I was good at talking about what I could see and answering questions about my information.

All About Me!

This term I have been learning to:

• use a plan to help me record 3-4 ideas on a topic
• use capital letters and full stops correctly
• use Wordart to record words and phrases that describe ME!

All About Me!

My name is Caius.  I am 7 years old.  My birthday is on February the 11th.  I have a pet rabbit called Beans.  My favourite stuff is swimming, school, climbing and drawing.  My family is 2 brothers, Mum and Dad.  My favourite movie is 'Descendants'.  I love dancing and singing.  

I have been learning to use capital letters and fullstops.  I have been putting them in where they should be.  I find it easy to plan and I can think of the ideas.  I put lots of words into my Word Art.  I really liked doing it.  The tricky part was spelling some of them.  Caius  09.04.18
